Here we have some images of a problem we experienced with the conveyor system on the 3200 spaltfix. the logs would come through the splitting channel & dig in to the base of the conveyor breaking the welds underneath the belt. There was an easy fix which was to have a plate made with a rise of around 40 degrees to lift the logs before they dropped onto the belt.

The first plate we tried was placed right on the edge of the drop off from the base machine this worked ok but the conveyor system couldn't be moved to the vertical position for transporting around the yard. so a different approach was called for. and new holes were drilled further in. We also found with removing the mat to use the holes for the plate we had a significant number of logs slide out the bottom & jam the belt.

The new problem we have found with plate is with the angled rise we get a build up of logs just behind the splitting blades this leads to spillage out the sides although it's an amount we can live with for now. We will get some guards at some point to close down the gap.

We were Looking for an alternative to the 1 ton bulk bags which are very sore on the body trying to manhandle them out the back of a van, this is when we came up with the idea of something to fit a sack barrow. originally we had thought of a piano barrow for the big bags but the difficulty in getting it underneath quickly ruled this idea out.
What we came up with was the 1/4 ton sack or 0.25 cubic meters these bags actually have a capacity of 500Kg for sand grain etc.
The first trial of bags we opted for had 4 loop handles at the top & 2 at the bottom for ease of emptying. These worked OK although they didn't hold their shape very well and the bottom loops would catch in your feet and the wheels of the barrow,

Now that we had a delivery bag our customers liked with no stacking required & no mess but they would loose contact number so it was time to dump the UK made bags at £5 a time and move to India lose the bottom handles that would catch on everything save around 60% on the manufacturing costs and have the contact details put on the bag.

A good reason to make sure you pick 1st gear and not 3rd when driving through a gateway with the tractor.
